When first got a copy of this I thought it would just be about the usual vampires, I am glad to say I was wrong. Not only are there 2 types of vampires, but also witches.

Reading Immortal Embrace I sometimes forgot it was about vampires, as its not in your face, and it let me concentrate on the budding friendships between the characters, both friendly and romantically.

I loved the family dynamics of the characters, they may not be related to each other as a "real" family, but from reading Immortal Embrace it seems like they are, and they feel like a close knit family, not only thinking of themselves, but also humans with the lifestyle and choices they make.

Reading Immortal Embrace took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, to loving the family and how they treat Nate, but also making me really dislike a character from the begining, making me feel something as not right with them, but not able to really pin point it till the evidence was there. I have never disliked a character in a book so much before and I applaud Charlotte for making me feel like this.

Charlotte's writing has just enough detail, explaining backstory and history as part of the book, but also adding enough descriptive language so we actually get to picture what is happening, but not too much to distract from what is going on.

Immortal Embrace was a page turner from start to finish, and I am so glad I have Forbidden Embrace waiting to be read, as I don't think I could wait to see what happens next.

Immortal Embrace is a story about a girl name Sophia Pierce who was tragically turned into a vampire. When she was embraced by her new vampire family, she found hope and the support she needed to move on. Living a very long life can be a bit boring for a teenager, especially when you don’t have many friends. But soon enough, she bumps into a mortal, Nathanial, who utterly takes her breath away. Her thoughts are consumed by him and she wonders why she is drawn to him besides the fact that he smells delicious. Lucky for her, Nathanial is head over heels in love with her and accepts her for who she is.

Immortal Embrace was enjoyable and I was hooked from chapter one. There are many wonderful characters, but I found myself attached to Sophia and her family. This heartwarming story will pull you in as you read about Sophia, who wants to be a normal teenager, but can’t. Though a vampire, she tries to found her place in life. She is also grateful for all that she has. I highly recommend this book to all the young adult readers.

I was contacted by the author of this book and asked if I would read it in exchange for an honest review. I read the blurb and an extract on her website and decided it looked good and so accepted.
Sophia Pierce is a Vampire, she never wanted this life but has learnt to deal with the consequences, her adopted family live by rules and refuse to feed off of mortals, they control their cravings and live on donated blood or animal blood. They try to blend into society and come across as a normal loving family. There is now a new member to the family,Danika, she has to be integrated and needs to learn the rules and her control. Sophia and her siblings head back to school to keep an eye on Danika and get her back into society.
Sophia doesn't particularly want to go back to school, she's done it all before and prefers to keep to herself, not get attached to anyone, that is until she meets Nathanial, the school hottie and it's love at first sight. Sophia must learn to open up and accept herself so others can accept her too.
I loved the twist of this story, the vampires weren't all blood-sucking monsters, but rather a special family unit that although different, wanted to be a part of others lives and were kind, caring, loyal and loving. I really felt a warmth and attraction to the family and almost felt like a part of their unit.
Nathanial sounds great, I wish I could find me someone like him, he is so understanding of everything, loving and sounds good looking too. I could just imagine his adoring smile. *heart melts*
The story is really well paced and once I had sat down I found it hard to pull myself away. I was sent the pdf version as I don't have an e-reader so I could only read it in the evenings when I was home with my computer, when I had to log off, I found myself wondering what would happen next and I struggled to read a different book, as I couldn't keep my thoughts off this one. I ended up reading it in three sessions, but it didn't take me long at all. I was captured into the story and felt like I was standing along side the characters.
For a first time novel, I am excited to see what else Charlotte will release. Most of all I am looking forward to book two in this series, as this book doesn't come to a complete conclusion, it's left me on tenterhooks and I want to know what will happen.
Definitely one to look out for.

I was chosen as a teen test reader prior to publication and... wow! I read this book in 6 hours and I just couldn't put it down! This book made the characters come to life and it felt as if I was watching a movie of it in my head and honestly I liked it better then twilight!

I recommend this book to young adults, teens, adults and really just anyone who like vampire romance and it even throws in a little bit of witches for you. SO, if your like me and like the shows charmed, vampire diaries, ect I bet you will LOVE this book as well.

This was a wonderful book for new author Charlotte Blackwell. I loved the story and the characters. I fell in love with the characters and the family as they seem to come full circle in a journey of loss and love.

I cannot wait for the next book to come out and see how the other characters develop.

Great read.....

I just purchased this book this evening and sat down and read it. It is now 2:00am I couldn't stop reading. I enjoyed how the first book has started out and I enjoy the plot being laid out. I love the characters that have been introduced so far and I am really looking forward to more. I have read many other Vampire series and I feel like I am pretty picky, If the story doesn't grab my attention in the first couple chapters its not gonna happen. After the 3rd chapter of my sample I had to purchase the story to finish the story! I will definatley be looking forward to the next books in the series.

A great story of vampires coming to age. It's moving and heart warming. The characters are people you take into your heart and keep them there.
Charlotte Blackwell's first story in the Embrace series is a great beginning and I see this series becoming one that adults as well as teens will read over and over.

 Read from August 11 to 16, 2011

I was given book 1 to review by the author back in May and I loved it, since then I have followed Charlotte on her blog and pestered her about book 2. (thanks for putting up with my hinting Charlotte) Therefore I was so excited when I got an email from Charlotte with book 2. I could not wait to get stuck into this series again and literally squealed when I opened the email.
The book follows on from the first, and I was immediately back into the world. It was like meeting up with old friends.
This book is really fast paced and exciting. Sophia and Danika are still having issues and things go from bad to worse. Danika runs away and causes all sorts of problems. There is also a massive battle looming from a rival vampire clan the Cerberus and a character makes a reappearance.
I read this really quickly and couldn't stop. I even stayed up late tonight to finish it. The characters develop more in this book and you also learn more about their history and origins. I love the vampire lore and magic study.
You see a whole new side to Danika and Sophia opens up more too. She was quite guarded in the first book but she is learning to trust her friends and family more.
Nathaniel is such a sweetheart, so understanding and accepting of Sophia. If only all boys were like that.
It was good to see more of Ebony and Eliza too, the young witches are really coming into their own and I hope we see more of them in the next book.
This really is a series that I would recommend you check out.

Forbidden Embrace does pick up where it left off only to make me want more. I can't wait till I receive my copy of Mystic Embrace because with the last two books this author has put out, I couldn't put the books down and hope that I will be left alone long enough to be able to enjoy this next book of her series. It's a must read and you don't know what you are missing until you have read the books themselves. You feel what the characters feel and the true bond of friendship that should be the way it is in real life not just in books. The characters have accepted each other as they are, not what everyone thinks they should be. Way to go Charlotte. Can't wait for Mystic Embrace and the rest that follow.

I started Forbidden Embrace straight after Immortal Embrace as I couldn't wait to read it. Those of you who have had to wait between books don't have to worry. Forbidden Embrace picks up straight were it left off in Immortal Embrace, and occasionally reflects back on a few things to keep the reader up to date.

I started this book already with my own thoughts and feelings for each of the characters. I loved Sophia even more in Forbidden Embrace, she was protective of her family even more than ever and her feelings for Nate are growing and she tries her hardest to do what is right to keep him safe, even if he dislikes it.
Danika....what can I say about her. From my previous review you already know I dislike her a lot and in the first few chapters my dislike grows even more, but in the end, when we actually get to see her thoughts I do feel sorry for her and can understand how she acted the way she did. This doesn't mean that I don't dislike her at all, just that I don't dislike her as much.

Forbidden Embrace introduces more characters. We get to learn more about the background characters from Immortal Embrace and watch as the witches, Ebony and Eliza work more on their magic to help out Sophia and her family, especially in helping prepare for the fight and making sure that they have the advantage over the Cerberus.

Again Charlotte has added just the right amount of detail to her writing, giving us the props to imagine what is going on, but not too much that it takes away from the story. Forbidden Embrace flows perfectly, not only towards the fight but even afterwards, and although the danger isn't coming directly to the Pierce Family anymore, you are made aware of it being in the background and in their thoughts.

Forbidden Embrace ends nicely, with all the story wrapped up and no big cliffhanger.
I can't wait for Mystic Embrace to be released and see what happens next.

Charlotte Blackwell is a legend. Enough said!
No, I will write a proper review, but it's true, she is a legend.
This book carries on after the events in book 2, but is very different as it is told from Ebony's point of view, not Sophia's. It was fresh to have a different point of view in the story and I really enjoyed it.
Ebony is vastly becomming a powerful witch along with her sister Eliza, they spend there time between fighting off evil vampires or other monsters/demons, getting through high school, training their powers and spending time with their boyfriends and the Pierce family, life is full, sometimes complicated but going well, until everything starts to change. I don't want to give anything away, but this book is sooo good. It will give you an emotional roller coaster, make you laugh, make you cry and have you on the edge of your seat. I read it in about 3 hours, I couldn't put it down.
All the favourite characters are still in it, you still see and hear from Sophia and the rest of the family and Caspian makes an appearance - YAY.
I was surprised by some of the twists in this book but it made it so good. These books just have something about them that make you fall in love with them. The characters are like old friends and I love being swept into their world.
If you haven't read book 1 yet, i suggest you find it and read it, then grab book 2 and so on. *taps foot* well go on - go get the books!

So far I think this is the best book in this series. So let me tell you about it and then you can decide.

D rated it 4 of 5 stars
Wow-- a few things I did not expect to happen. Some real issues are presented in this book-- although because that is not what the book is about it is not covered in depth- but still touched on and made important. I like how this isn't all about vampires but other supes as well. Can't wait to read the next when Charlotte and Mary (Ting) cross over their characters from each of their respective series.

Wow, what can I say? I loved this book and thought that it would just be about the sisters that are witches but went beyond that. Charlotte has yet to let me down sitting on the edge of my seat and seeing the changes all of the families are going thru. I read this book as her other 2 in 1 day not able to put it down. The story held onto me tight and wouldn't let me go until I completed it. Knowing there are more to come of this series, I can't wait to see how everything goes with everyone. At one point, my heart sank from some of the things that had occured in the story but don't want to give anything away. Just a wonderful book. Can't wait for the next one

Reader Reviews for EVERLASTING EMBRACE

Family is Power April 19, 2012

This is the continued story for Ms. Blackwell's Embrace series. I have grown attached to the Pierce family and what they have accomplished thru out their years. Her story is a love that never ends. The Pierce family is the kind of supportive family we all want. It is never ending. I laughed and cried thru out this story. I was in awe over a special appearance from an angel in Crossroads.
The story is set up where Nathanial and Sophia take their relationship a step further. His mother and father have died and now they are raising his new born brother. The family is opening a school for the paranormal so the children can learn what they are responsible for doing in their lives and go in the right direction with the right guidance. Nathanial's friend Ben is being hunted, they want him to come home because they aren't sure he can handle his powers. With the support of the Pierce family and friends, can Ben be trusted to do what's right? How will the new students embrace their new abilities and use them for good? I really don't want this series to end. Ms. Blackwell, as a reader of yours, I'm requesting this series continue. I love this story line and the characters and don't want it to ever end. This is another masterpiece of yours

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this series!20 April 2012
This review is from: Everlasting Embrace (Embrace Series) (Kindle Edition)
If you have read my reviews from the previous books in the series, you will know how much I love these books. Charlotte is amazing and I have been waiting to hear from her about this one. So when I received this book from her on Tuesday I literally screamed in excitement.
I love the world Charlotte has created and with every book it feels like I am coming home and catching up with old friends. Sophia feels like a sort of sister and it's almost like having a catch up with her when I open the book.
This book carries on where book 3 left off and there are a lot of pieces to pick up, the Pierce family are recovering from deaths, demons, monsters and new discoveries. Sophia and Nate are totally made for each other and left looking after Nate's little brother Nik, btu they couldn't be happier.
A war is kicking off between them and the Cereberus group and now Angels are sticking their necks in too. It just keeps getting more excitement and this book really has everything - marriage, death, love, war, school, holidays, blood sucking, butt kicking and awesome powers.
Another difference with this book is that not all the story is told by one person, there are chapters told by Sophia, Ebony, Caspian and the new, awesome Michael. Angels may be in this story but they aren't all peace loving, some are out for destruction and the Pierce family must do their best to protect their friends.
I read this in about 2 hours, when I had to put it down I couldn't wait to pick it back up again, I just had to know what happened. Charlotte's writing style just sweeps you into the story, makes you feel at home and involved. And I love the mix of action and romance.
The Pierce family may not be violent blood-sucking vampires, but they aren't wimps either - they have a purpose and beliefs and are not afraid to fight for them. They kick butt on a whole new level.
If you haven't read this series yet, I strongly suggest you do, it just keeps getting better. Here's hoping it's not too long before book 5. :D
